Action: Anti-War and Anti-Occupation Activities

  • HONOR THE PILOTS!
(In the wake of the declaration signed by 27 combat pilots, headed by a renowned Air Force colonel, refusing to obey "illegal and immoral" orders to bomb Palestinian neighborhoods in the course of "targeted liquidations".)

YOU, the 27 of moral courage,
who are refusing to fulfil immoral orders,
who are rebelling against the occupation,
    YOU are the real patriots,
YOU save the honor of Israel,
YOU restore the belief in our state,
    YOU ARE THE NATIONAL CONSCIENCE!
Gush Shalom ad - "Haartez" 19/09/03

This is honorable: Thank you to the humane and honorable 27 Israeli pilots who have refused to go on attack missions against Palestinians in Palestinian civilian territories calling it immoral. It takes a tremendous amount of courage, honor, and faith to stand up to one's beliefs in spite of the personal cost. Thank you.
Excerpt from their letter: "We veteran and active duty pilots . . . are against carrying out illegal and immoral attacks of the kind that Israel is conducting in the territories. We . . . refuse to take part in air force attacks on civilian population centers."

Put a light in your window in this very dark hour: another statement by peace loving people across the globe:

"We will continue waging peace, even if war comes. We have joined together to articulate a vision of how the world should be -- of how nations should treat each other, of how we can collectively deal with threats to our security. One simple way to show your continued commitment to this vision is to put a light in your window. It could be a Christmas string or candle, a light bulb, or a lantern. It's an easy way to keep the light of reason and hope burning, to let others know that they are not alone, and to show the way home to the young men and women who are on their way to Iraq.
